5. Mineral Processing Plant
Project:
Sourcing and supply of mining equipment – plant for gold processing for medium sized gold production facility in Zimbabwe.
Objective:
The company was looking for complex solution to enhance its gold processing capacity, improve production and recovery efficiency rates by replacing it plant’s equipment with modern high efficiency equipment and solutions.
Our Client:
Our client owns three mining concessions in the region. The project we worked on was for a medium sized gold production facility.
Project Description:
The client approached 300cc on a consultancy basis, as they were interested to explore the Chinese market; at the same time the client was also exploring and received other quotations from suppliers in South Africa and Australia.
Based on extensive research and market mapping, 300cc shortlisted three suppliers in Asia of which client visited two and selected one. 300cc covered the project from the initial design of the plant through to completion. This was complimented by two separate visits by the Metallurgical Mine Superintendent and Mine Plant Engineer during production for inspection.
Once the plant had been manufactured, 300cc arranged for engineers from manufacturer’s side to commission the plant and train the company engineers on how to run, maintain and service the plant.
Products sourced:
Flotation circuit system, electro winning system, ball mill, crushers, filter press, back hoe loaders, reagent dosing system and other related items. All parts and products are commissioned with 24 months supply of spare parts.
Outcome:
The final cost to the client was one fifth (i.e. 80% less) than the original quotations. The project was a critical factor in the on-going sustainability of the mine. After the fine tuning of the plant, all recovery rates and production capacities increased significantly.
